Vienna, Austria made a wise decision when they invested nearly one million Euros into a cement skate haven for not only Viennese skatebaorders but all of those around the world who enjoy using wood, metal, urathane and gravity to their advantage. Opened spring 2008, free to the public, large and small features for the whole family, go shred und viel Spass….. 

Along with a few unique creations (nipple/bump/ass-pimple?), this park is equiped with a street section that is offers hubba ledges, curved/straight boxes, a choice rail and banks. The park attempted to keep the long history of “multi-culti center of the world” well and alive by embrassing all aspects of skating.

On my way out of the country I stopped in to visit a few soilders in Casper, Wyoming. As you can see, we all don´t have epic parks to skate. So, what does one do? Just as front-line soilder Shank Herron does, 50-50 stall on a bunch of cardboard. Stuck smooth! That is hard.

After landing in Frankfurt, Germany, I took the train and hooked up with friends in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. There, Christian Sirp took off with a sicko blindside shifty to fake on the ghetto BMX quarter. As always showing the bikers what real style looks like.

Leipzig Rollt is what most of the stickers say on this ramp. That means that Leipzig rolls, but not on this day. There was nobody even to shot me trying to carve over the window. All the same, Leipzig does roll even with graffitti.

After skating the Coney Island park(above) in Leipzig, the owners of a shop called Rise Above Skateboards showed up and threw me the hooks. Basti and Ryan busted out the key to a private ramp in a show venue.It was a fun sesh with those guys. An eight foot mini spinned out to a three footer finally gave me a stoking spark to junk me out.

After a long journey to Austria, I was ready to hit the parks in Vienna. As you can see, Europeans are a bit strange. Would you not want to kill all and hate all after some dumbass company put a stupid rail in the middle of the tranny. I would. Besides all the political messages and the total misunderstanding of what a ramp should be, I had a great time on the colorful attemt at a sick ramp. Vienna ghetto, best ramp I have skated in Austria…..besides the Play Castle and that is a different story.

Most of the time you will run into these kinds of halfs. They are not bad, but like everything else over here, something is just not right. For example, there is aluminum coping on this and that sucks. Steel it the only way to go. Also, the ultra mello trannies make for a less than exciting time.

So here you have it, the “best park” in Vienna, Austria. Well, with over four million people, the music center of the world (historically at least) and the so called Multi-Culti center of the world, one would think that they could come up with something better than this. Ok, it is good enough to burn off some energy, but I would rather skate Kirk Park. I know all of the street kids are talking shit right now, but if they know me, they know I get some here, offten. One hope for me it the new million Euro park they are building south of the city. I went there found out it is going to open in November. I can only hope that the trannies are deep and the cope is either cement or not aluminum. Next time I hope to talk some razor scooter kid into taking my picture. Peace untill next time…keep ripping for the people who skate garbage, not saying that is always a bad thing, to skate garbage that is.

The whole world stopped when Jeremiah Worm’s backflip sent a counter-revolution into the globe’s rotation.

July 28th dawned hot at the Mobash Skatepark in Missoula, MT. Montana rode with pride. Whitefish, Kalispell, Missoula and Bozeman were all in the house. It wasn’t long until the first shot was fired. The street course was obstacle-to-obstacle fighting. Kenneth from Kalispell dominated the course and took everyone as his prisoner of shred. The true apex of the day was the bowl jam: 26-29 yr olds. Miles of style Kyle flew through the air delivering blitzkrieg-like strikes on all the hips complete with front and back smith grinds in the deep. Bodie held his lines with big methods and sick front 5-0’s. In the end it was Jeremiah with ally-oops, full cabs and backflips, who took home the purse. Thanks to all who supported skateboarding that day!

Here is the lowdown. We rally at Play-It-Again-Sports at 11:00 am. There will be a jam with booty and stoke. Also, Taco Del Mar is around the corner. At 2:00 we meet at World Boards for a skate down main street to the Bozeman Skatepark. Be sure not to miss a chance to skate with all the soilders in town to show the community our commitment to what we do. At the park we will session till 8:00 with music, food and friends. Be there or be a lame-ass….

On Easter Sunday in Anaconda, Skate Army showed up with more than eggs and candy.  We had energy drinks and stoking attitudes to get the kids good and hyped.  But when we said, “We got new bearings for the best trick”, the kids went nuts.  They threw down hard like front-line soldiers facing a barrage of enemy fire.  Teddy continued charging to get his rock-to-fake, while getting knocked down and back up again and again in the true spirit of skateboarding.  Scotty rose to the occasion with a blunt to fakie that got the goods.  When the skate battle was finished smiles were to be seen all around.  The stoke of skateboarding rang like a bell; loud and true.
